Top 3D films of 2010
Top 3Dfilms
2010 will always be remembered as the year when 3D films became a serious contender within the film industry. Yes, 3D technology is not new however the way it is now used by directors to absorb you into their world supersedes anything that came before.
Already this year we’ve seen a couple of fantastic releases.
| AVATAR - released |
|
| James Cameron’s Avatar will always be seen as the benchmark of 3D films – an awe-inspiring tale of man trying to take what is not rightly theirs. If you have not yet seen this film in the cinema we strongly advise you to do so … watching it from your sofa will not have the same effect. Although the plot is a little wishy-washy the quality of the 3D effects certainly makes up for it. As a viewer you are literally absorbed into a 3D alien film – breathtaking! | ALICE IN WONDERLAND - released |
|
| This truly is Tim Burton’s speciality. He manages to create an atmospheric and creepy world originally thought of by Lewis Carroll. Take a look at our review of Alice in Wonderland 3D | |
| CLASH OF THE TITANS – tbc |
|
| This was originally filmed over two decades ago and hits the nail when it comes to bloody and gory action. With mythological creatures galore this should work well in the 3D format. | |
| TOYSTORY 3 - tbc |
|
| One for the families. This Disney-Pixar classic is back in full 3D action, surely a hit with the audiences. To infinity and beyond … 3D style! | |
| HUBBLE 3D - tbc |
|
| Now as fans of astrology this film is looking like it could be a true classic. The film will centre around the hubble telescope and the awesome images it has taken over its many years in service. It really should be a 3D spectacular.Check out our review of Hubble 3D | |
| TRON 3D - tbc |
|
| An 80’s sci-fi classic that if directed well could become a truly memorable piece of cinema. | |
Enjoy third dimension films.
Other notable films to look out for include Shrek 3D, Battle for Terra, Despicable me, Arabia, Harry Potter Train your dragon and Megamind.
Remember this is really the first year that 3D has had a positive impact on the film world. With new directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Nick Park looking to direct in 3D we have a feeling it is just going to become bigger and bigger … and we cannot wait.
Keep an eye on the 3D film page for further reviews.
