Clash of the Titans 3D

Yet another 3D film has hit the shores of the UK and this time it based around ancient Greek myths.

Originally Clash of the Titans came out in 1981 and featured some pretty sketchy yet entertaining special effects that relied on stop-motion photography. Move forward a couple of decades and we now have an in-your-face action adventure epic.

The basic premise of Clash of the Titans 3D focuses on the tale of Perseus who, unbeknownst to him, is a demigod and the illegitimate son of Zeus and a human woman. Cut a long story short Perseus sees his family killed off by Hades and vows to take revenge. You meet mythical creatures such as Pegasus (winged horse), Medusa and the Kraken. For those who like legends, strange creatures, large armies, heroism, fight scenes, monsters etc then this is a fun film. However if you don’t then we wouldn’t recommend you bother watching the film.

The film does have a number of good actors including Liam Neeson (Zeus), Sam Worthington (Perseus) and Ralph Fiennes (Hades) but the script lets them down. The issue with Clash of the Titans is that unlike other 3Dfilms such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland the 3D element was added post-production resulting in inferior 3D effects. This is a shame as it definitely had the premise to be a classic but falls a long way short.
