Philips 3D TVs

Philips is a multinational Dutch corporation and one of the largest electronics companies in the world (last year sales were over £15 billion). Like a number of leading electronic brands Philips have announced a series of 3D full HD compatible tvs including the world’s first 3D tv with a 21:9 aspect ratio.

Philips new 3D TV’s are the 9000 and 8000 LED series and have the same design as the previous Philips TV series with Ambilight. They contain Philips’ processor perfect pixel HD engine which results in a crystal clear and vivid image. In addition the display is a full 1080p resolution which means perfect brightness and colour saturation. On top of this perfect natural motion technology ensures smooth playback of motion on the screen resulting in a more realistic 3D image.

LG 9000 series

Along with fantastic picture quality, vibrant colours and incredible 3D visuals the PFL9705 series features WIFI circuitry allowing the TV to become a device on your home WIFI network and thus enable you to access the internet via the Net TV portal. The 9000 series will include the 32 inch 32PFL9705, the 40 inch 40PFL9705 and the 46 inch 46PFL9705.

LG 8000 series

Just like the 9000 series the LG 8000 (PFL8605) series will provide fantastic visual effects through Philips technology such as natural motion technology and perfect pixel HD engine. The screen sizes available will be 32″, 40″ and 46″ inches and there will be a dynamic screen contrast of 10.000.000:1.

Both the 9000 and the 8000 will use active 3D technology which basically means tha the TV and active 3D glasses communicate with each other. The TV synchronizes its picture with shutters on the glasses resulting in a 3D effect.

Consumers will be able to buy a 3D upgrade pack that will consists of two pairs of active 3D glasses and a wireless transmitter. The pack will be available for the 3D-compatible 21:9 TV and for both the 8000 and 9000 series.
