Sony have catered to a number of different customers creating 3D HDTV’s that suit all budgets. Like most other 3D TV manufacturers, Sony will be using frame sequential display technology in conjunction with their 3D Active Shutter glasses to deliver high quality 3D content. In 2010 Sony announced 3D Ready Bravia LCD TVs along with 3D compatible Blu-ray disc players. In addition, they have promised new 3D capable Vaio PCs and digital cameras.

Sony 3D TV

Sony recently announced a new line of 3D TVs:

The LX900 series

The LX900 is Sony’s first ever collection of LCD 3D TVs. As usual Sony has crammed in a great selection of function and technology into these TVs including a futuristic sensor technology that automatically detects when viewers step away from the television so that it can dim the display and save power. The LX900 also offers integrated 3D functionality with Sony’s 3D active shutter glasses and built-in 3D transmitter.

The LX900 3D TVs also feature a 1080p flat panel that incorporates Sony’s Motionflow PRO 240Hz technology for enhancing screen response times and minimizing motion-blur. On top of that the sophisticated Bravia Engine 3 video processor helps reduce noise, enhance detail and optimize contrast for a vibrant, lifelike image.

The LX900 models also feature Sony’s new OptiContrast panel. Designed with a clear surface treatment and a resin sheet sandwiched between the LCD display panel and glass plate, the OptiContrast panel minimizes the reflection and refraction of external and internal light producing deeper and more vivid images.
