The HX900 is very similar to Sony’s LX900 series the only differences really being the fact the screen sizes are smaller and the HX900 uses LED backlighting with local dimming. The Totally3D team find that LED backlighting improves contrast and dynamic range, maintaining the dark areas, while other areas are driven near peak brightness. In addition the technology reduces unnecessary light emission resulting in true and deep blacks.

Users are rewarded a spectacular picture via full 1080p HD visual and Sony’s new ambient sensor that automatically optimizes the TV’s color and brightness according to the room environment. The HX900 also combines Sony’s Motionflow PRO 240Hz motion compensation technology to limit motion blur (great for sports/ 3D content) and an optiContrast panel to ensure a top quality visual treat.

The XBR-HX900 series is 3D ready and can be used with Sony active shutter glasses and transmitter (both sold separately).
