Like many other manufacturers Toshiba have also taken the decision to create 3D ready Tvs.
Earlier in 2010 Toshiba announced their new range of cell based 3D TV at CES. In a nut shell the cell is different to other TVs as it’s powered by multiple eight-core cell processors which according to Toshiba means they possess 10 times the computing power of a standard desktop computer. This will be invaluable when up-scaling 2D video content into 3D material.

The 3D TV that Toshiba are launching with is the ZX900 which will come in two screen sizes – 55 and 65 inches. The 3D technology that will be used will be active 3D technology so active shutter glasses will be needed for 3D viewing.
Other important features for Toshiba’s new 3D TV’s include an improved backlight performance. There are now 512 independent dimming zones for the backlight resulting in exceptional black levels and contrast. The ZX900 will also be internet ready and will be able to stream various forms of digital content. In addition there will also be an integrated 3D Blu-ray disc player and a 1 terabyte hard drive which is plenty of space for movies and music. Tb (yes, Terabyte!) internal hard drive, video phone capabilities and a host of other features.

We believe Toshiba are going to be one of the integral brands for 3D TVs and by the sounds of it are going to put up serious competition to the likes of Sony and Panasonic.
